Overcoming a tradition of limited opportunity for women in agriculture, Velma spent years mastering organic cultivation alongside her family before joining the Awal Nan Women’s Network 13 years ago.

An association affiliated with the ACODIHUE Co-Op, Awal Nan is 100% women-owned and run, equipping producers like Velma with business management skills, organic farming techniques, and fair market access. Women now make up 65% of ACODIHUE’s total membership.

Through a connection formed by our co-founder, Win, via 410 Bridge, a portion of every purchase goes directly toward community development in El Pajal.
